Foal Handling
Heather has raised foals from birth and has also trained weanlings which have never experienced handling.
Valuable lessons for a foal to know are:
- Accepting a halter
- Leading
- Standing quietly for brushing or handling
- Picking up hooves
- Respecting people’s space
- Tying (for older foals)
- Moving away from pressure
Heather provides lessons in a short, gentle format so foals can learn to behave respectfully and build trust in their handlers without experiencing excessive stress.
